As the Texas sun settles over our fences here in Weatherford, we’ve been reflecting on the steady rhythm of life on the ranch. Summer is a season of growth for the herd and busy days around the barn. We’re pleased to share this update with our friends and customers who appreciate the care and commitment that go into everything we do here.
The Newest Additions: 2026 Poll and Fullblood Bull Calves
We are thrilled to introduce the newest members of the Erichsen Black Dog family. We have a standout group of fullblood and polled bull calves on the ground this season, and they are already showing the type of quality and structure we strive for in our breeding program.
We believe that true quality is developed through intensive, individual management. Seeing these calves thrive in the pasture is a testament to the focus we place on premium, fullblood genetics. Their development is right on track, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to mature throughout the year.
Barn & Pasture: The Horses
It’s not just the cattle keeping us busy this summer. Candy, Smarty, Megan, and Cat be Nimble have been keeping us on our toes! Whether they’re out in the pasture or getting some work in, they are a constant part of our daily rhythm.
There is nothing quite like a quiet morning spent with the horses to keep us grounded during the busy Hot Texas summer.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the hotter months, our focus remains on the well-being of our livestock. From consistent water management to ensuring our pastures stay healthy despite the heat, we’re keeping a close watch on the land and the animals that call it home.
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made this year and are excited about the direction of our herd. Thank you for following along with us as we look forward to sharing more updates as the season progresses.
